Champaign Public Library
Join us at the Champaign Public Library for an afternoon with author and artist Javaka Steptoe, who is this year's winner of the highest honor for children's picture books - the Caldecott Medal. He will talk about his recent book, "Radiant Child: The Story of Young Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat" which also won the Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award. A book signing will follow.
Doors open at 1:30 pm for refreshments and book sales. Jane Addams Book Shop will be on site selling Javaka Steptoe's books.
