artist statement:

Although I have spent the majority of my life focusing on music, I have always created art through ceramics, acrylics and mixed media sculpture.  In the summer of 2007 I found my passion for glass at a glass studio in Connecticut and redirected my goals to pursuing a full-time career in stained glass art.

I have a completely original creative process, untouched by the rules of the academic art world.  I make window panels, 2D wall sculptures, business card and candle holders, fused glass pieces and many others.  I also incorporate other elements into my works to enhance the depth and dimensionality - scraffitto, glass paint, poetry, overlays, jewels, etc.

I spend most of my time getting inspiration through the strengths and weaknesses of the human body and spirit, music and abstract art.  My art is full of color and texture and each piece has specific, well thought out meaning behind it.  I specialize in abstract design and feminine forms and I am currently exploring the themes of “cafés” and “the seven deadly sins”. - Angela Potticary
