artist statement
Drawing has always been my passion, whether using a pencil on paper, a stylus on copperplate or a brush on canvas. I am fascinated with line...and use it to define form, value and space. Seeking an uncluttered simplicity in my work, I purposely limit the composition, which in turn directs the emotions, moods and senses of the observer's imagination. This brief encounter with the viewer's imagination and their interpretation of my work is the pinnacle of the drawing process.
