Artist Bio

A bead artist since the 1960s, I began experimenting with flameworked glass in 2001 and my glass beads now dominate my design work. Additionally my jewelry line, Firefly Jewels, includes one-of-a-kind necklaces of pearl, amber, semiprecious or precious gemstone beads, vermeil or sterling silver components. I also produce unique woven beadworks such as gourd-stitch bezel settings for dichroic glass kilnwork pendants or gemstone cabochons. Influences on my designs range from traditional Tibetan to Chinese to strictly-out-of-my-imagination. Custom designs, involving close work with the customer, are a specialty.
