The Rantoul Theater Group

The Rantoul Theatre Group was organized in May of 1999 after Village Board member Bonnie Moran sent a letter to the editor of The Rantoul Press saying that she wished the Village of Rantoul had a community theatre. Seven interested citizens showed up at the Village Hall and formed the group. The first production by the group was Dame Agatha Christie's TEN LITTLE INDIANS.
Since then, the Group's seasons have grown from one show to the current six productions per season. With the help of the Village of Rantoul, the Group converted an old Chanute A.F.B. lecture hall, scene of countless Commanders' Calls during the Air Force days, into a fully equipped 200-seat theatre. The Group encourages participation from not only Rantoul, but all surrounding areas.
