UC-IMC Hosts Clothesline Project Display
April 21, 2006
Urbana - Organizers have announced a unique art display at the Independent Media Center in Urbana, April 27-29. Called the Clothesline Project, the display is a collection of t-shirts that call attention to violence against women. Akin to the Aids Memorial Quilt, each shirt commemorates a particular woman's experience with violence. The shirts hang side-by-side on a clothesline to "Break the Silence" and to bear witness to violence against women.
The dates for the display:
April 27-29, 2006
10:00am-10pm
@ the Independent Media Center
202 S. Broadway, Urbana
If you would like to make a shirt to add to the display, special shirt-making opportunities are available at the Independent Media Center display:

Saturday, April 29, Noon–6pm
All are welcome.
