Champaign - The Parkland College Fine and Applied Arts Department is pleased to announce that Urbana resident Maria Dorofeeva will receive the Underwood-Alger Scholarship for the 2006-2007 academic year.
This merit-based scholarship, covering tuition, fees, books, and supplies, is offered to a full-time Parkland art student with a strong academic standing and plans to transfer to a four-year institution in art. Students apply for the Underwood-Alger Scholarship by presenting a portfolio of artwork and a written statement, and going through an interview process.
Ms. Dorofeeva is the sixth student to receive this award. She has work currently on exhibit in the Parkland Student Fine Art Juried Exhibition.
