IAC Announces Call for Events Taking Place During Illinois Arts Week

Chicago - The Illinois Arts Council (IAC) invites artists and arts venues of all kinds to celebrate Illinois Arts Week 2006, to take place October 8–14. The theme, ‘The Arts Are All Around Us,’ captures an important message – that the arts are present every day, in some way, in our lives. Illinois Arts Week focuses attention on this message as each year hundreds of communities, schools, community arts groups, park districts, tourism organizations, and individual artists celebrate the arts in a special way during this week.
Illinois Arts Week provides an opportunity to showcase the arts in every community. Visit the IAC website (http://www.state.il.us/agency/iac/artsweek/Artsweek.htm. for more information and for free downloads of the Illinois Arts Week promotional kit, a history of Illinois Arts Week, a list of suggestions for celebrations of the arts, and the Arts Week logo that can be used to promote your events. The Illinois Arts Council will celebrate Illinois Arts Week by promoting arts events and activities that will take place in Illinois between October 8–14.
To be included in IAC printed materials for Illinois Arts Week, submit your information on this form no later than July 10, 2006.
Your events will be included at no charge. Due to space limitations, event copy may be edited, and events will be included on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you have multiple events, please submit each event individually. You can call 312/814-6762 if you have any questions.
The Illinois Arts Council encourages you to take advantage of the arts events taking place during Illinois Arts Week 2006 and throughout the year. The Arts Council will post an Illinois Arts Week 2006 Calendar of Events on its website and the events will also be published in the Illinois Arts Week 2006 Calendar of Events brochure that will be distributed throughout the state.
