Festival of Trees Organizers Issue Call to Designers

Champaign - Organizers for the Champaign-Urbana Festival of Trees are looking for designers to decorate and design evergreen trees and wreaths that will be auctioned off at their annual event, November 10 through 13, 2005.
The Festival of Trees is the annual fundraiser of the Junior Jeague of Champaign-Urbana. 100% of the proceeds are given back to the community of Champaign-Urbana. The C-U Junior League has raised a total of over $650,000 in the past nine years, with proceeds being donated to a variety of projects. These include giving school supplies to schools, books to school libraries, and scholarships to high school seniors.
Festival of Trees designers are given a budget to work with, with the amounts depending upon the sizes of the trees or wreaths being created. The designer then submits their reciepts to Jr. League and are reimbursed after the event. Each tree/wreath is sponsored by a business or individual; designers are asked to contact the sponsor for decorating themes (a few of the themes used in the past were: Illini, Barbie, Hot Wheels, S'mores, Candy Canes).
