Early American Museum Announces Call to Artists

Mahomet - The Early American Museum and Prairie Boatworks are sponsoring an Art Contest on the theme of “Between Fences."  From May 19th to June 30th, 2006, the Early American Museum is hosting a travelling exhibit by that name, under the auspices of the Smithsonian Museums on Main Street program. The exhibit will address the theme of fences and how they create barriers but also help us to define who we are. Artists are invited to create an artistic expression of this theme and submit to the contest.

Eligibility: Open to all.

Entries:
 Individuals may enter up to three works. Artwork should be no larger than 24 x 24 x 5 inches and be suitable and ready to hang on the wall. Artwork can be of any medium.

Entry Fee:
There is no entry fee. An entry form must be completed (download here).  A jury fee of five dollars must accompany each artwork.

Exhibition: 
Artwork will be chosen for exhibition. The exhibition will run from June 9th  through June 25th at Prairie Boatworks Gallery, 407 E. Main St., Mahomet, Illinois. 

Awards:
Monetary awards will be given to the top three entries; amount to be determined by the level of community participation.

Entry Deadline:
Entries can be delivered to the Early American Museum between the dates of May 1 and May 5.
