Champaign – Organizers at the Champaign-Urbana Area Project (http://www.cuapweb.org/) have announced CuperStar, the Champaign-Urbana Music Competition for youth artists, to begin this Summer. Young performers are invited to compete in three categories - Soloists, Duets, and Bands - in a variety of musical styles: Rap, Blues, R&B, Rock, Jazz, and more. CUperStar is open to all area youth ages 13-19. Finalists will perform at local venues and festivals this summer, and then this fall in a special event at Champaign’s historic Virginia Theatre, where Champaign-Urbana will choose its first CUperStar.
CuperStar is being put on by the Champaign-Urbana Area Project, 514B North Neil St., Champaign.
