Have you recently decided to hire a consultant or get outside expertise for your organization? Come to this workshop and hear from experts in the field about how you can maximize your consultant experience. Topics addressed will include:
- How to identify an organizational issue that warrants a consultant and making the case to your board and/or funders
- The difference between consulting and outsourcing
- Interviewing prospects and negotiating an agreement to find the best consultant for you
- Establishing a mutually-agreeable fee structure and outlining the scope of work
- Implementing the project to ensure a transfer of knowledge while maintaining a good working relationship.
About the Presenters:
Stephen Carlson has had an extensive career with Mercer Human Resource Consulting and was responsible for client relationship strategy, implementation and development of professional staff.
Marc Velasco, Business Manager in the Private Bank at Bank of America, has experience working in finance, strategy and project management.
Lisa Tylke is a non-profit management consultant who works with performing arts groups on organizational development, strategic planning, board development and fundraising.
