WCIA 3 Home & Garden Show Happens March 27-28
Champaign - The WCIA 3 Home and Garden Show will be returning to Assembly Hall on March 27-28, offering fresh and innovative ideas for any home or garden.
The show will be open Saturday, March 27th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 28th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission and parking are free.
This year’s event will host more than 140 exhibitors showcasing home improvement and landscaping products, pools and hot tubs, sunrooms, painting tools, pest control, windows, cabinets, lawn care and more. In addition, WCIA 3 personalities will be broadcasting live from Assembly Hall and offering the chance to win exclusive grand prize giveaways. Guests can enter to win $4,000 worth of landscaping courtesy of Country Arbors Nursery on E. Windsor Road or a $3,000 Furniture Shopping Spree from This Is It Furniture with two locations, 245 S. Again this year, the Busey Bank Home Improvement Theatre will feature a variety of how-to seminars taught by professionals in their respective fields.
This year the show is pleased to welcome featured guest, Doug Wilson, Broadlands native and designer from Trading Spaces. Doug’s appearance is sponsored by Border Magic. He will attend the show on Saturday, March 27 only and present on the Busey Bank Home Improvement Theatre at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Autograph sessions will immediately follow at Border Magic’s booth.
From BROADLANDS to BROADWAY and BACK, Doug will reveal how he moved to New York City to tackle the Big Apple in hopes of finding success. His story of struggles and triumphs unveil his road through acting, design, and television acclaim, and you’ll get an inside look into TLC’s “Trading Spaces”, “Moving Up” and the Hollywood buzz.

10 a.m.- Country Arbors Nursery- New plantings for 2010- Shane Cultra talks about new plantings for 2010 and where they can fit in.
11 a.m.- FEATURED GUEST- Doug Wilson- “From Broadlands to Broadway and Back”- Trading Spaces fame Doug Wilson will talk about his experiences with a meet and greet will follow right after in the Border Magic booth #332A on upper concourse.
12 p.m.- Busey Bank- Got Equity? Put it to work for you- A representative from Busey Bank will talk you through the process and how it can work for you!
1 p.m.- Villa Bella Staging- How to sell your home faster- ASP Accredited Staging Professional Nora Flattery from Chicago will talk about the importance of staging your home to not only sell faster but for more money.

11:30 a.m.- Home Depot- TrafficMaster Allure Flooring- Home Depot’s Kadi Oare and Larry Brannick will conduct a hands-on-demonstration TrafficMaster Allure flooring planks and how to install.
12:30 p.m.- Home Depot- Pavestone Walkways- Brian Koslosky and Tom Rollinger from the Home Depot gardening department will take you step by step through the process of transforming your outdoor space using pavestone pavers and wall blocks to give you the outdoors you dream about.
1:30 p.m.- Chris’ Water Gardens- Creating Paradise- one pond at a time- Owner Chris Sturdyvin will talk about water gardens, how to get started, mistakes people make with them and answer all your questions.
2:30 p.m.- Country Arbors Nursery- “The NO Maintenance, Always in Flowers. NO Rabbit Garden- Shane Cultra talks about the impossible garden tasks and how you can get close.
The Family Fun Zone, sponsored by Mix 94.5 and 92.5 The Chief, open throughout the event will include hands-on activities where families can bring the kids in for some creative crafts and entertainment. In addition, the Assembly Hall will be sponsoring a coloring station, complete with games and fun activities for all to enjoy! Below is the schedule of events:
