Local Artist Accepted Into United Scenic Artists Local #829
Champaign - In July, Urbana artist Lee Boyer (of Boyer Painting and Drawing) was accepted by examination into United Scenic Artists Local #829 as a scenic artist.
United Scenic Artists is the union that represents designers and artists for the entertainment industry. Members of United Scenic Artists work at venues, such as, Lyric Opera, Chicago Scenic Studios, St. Louis Muni, professional film production, and New York theatre.
Other 40 North members in United Scenic Artists are: Andy Warfel and Sean Murphy.
Earlier this summer, Boyer was also awarded a project grant of $1500 from the United States Institute of Theatre Technology to develop scenic artist techniques for touching up computer printed backdrops and scenery.
