With deepest gratitude, Krannert Center thanks the many jazz educators and enthusiasts who have planned and implemented the Jazz Threads project. Without their creative energy and donations of time and resources, this project would not have been possible.

Special thanks: to Cecil Bridgewater, whose artistry and local connections we celebrate; to Erma Bridgewater and Doris Hoskins, whose scrap books and photographs provided historical and photographic contributions to this project; to Tony Zamora, who contributed both a written history and photographs to Jazz Threads, and whose influence as a jazz musician in this community has benefited so many people; to the many musicians and jazz lovers who patiently endured uncomfortable questions, spoke candidly about their jazz experiences, and have been willing to share their musical memories with Krannert Center; to Jason Finkelman, whose idea to create a CU version of the famous Great Day in Harlem jazz photo provides a fantastic memento of Jazz Threads and a new historical document for Champaign-Urbana, and to photographer Chris Brown for his work producing this photograph; to our local clubs, park districts, and all the performance spaces that produce jazz; and to all who love jazz, mentor young musicians in this art form, and keep the spirit of this great American music alive.
