40 North | 88 West Announces Call for Entries for 2008 Boneyard Arts Festival Promotional Image

40 North | 88 West - Champaign County's Arts, Culture and Entertainment Council - is inviting local artists to submit work to be considered for use as the 2008 Boneyard Arts Festival promotional image. All works submitted will be juried by a panel of three local arts professionals. The artist and work selected will be announced no later than February 1, 2008. The Boneyard Arts Festival promotional image is used on posters, billboards, print advertising, and on the cover of the Boneyard Arts Festival Map - the festival's official guide distributed throughout the county.

The 2008 40 North | 88 West Boneyard Arts Festival will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 18-20.

Artists are asked to submit three digital images of recent, original work along with an entry form (available for download here: http://www.40north.org/events/call_08_entry_form.pdf) and a $15 application fee. The form, payment and image files (on disc) should be mailed or dropped by:

Images may also be submitted via e-mail, however both payment and a completed entry form must be received by mail for any image submission to be considered (email images to: sbentz@40north.org).  Checks should be made payable to 40 North | 88 West.

Applicants should include a self-addressed envelope if they wish to have their disk returned.

Deadline
A completed application form, the $15 fee, and 3 digital images must be received on or before Thursday, January 10, 2008.

Eligibility
Artists must be residents of Champaign County.

Artists are welcome to include with their submission an artist’s statement and/or biographical information on a separate piece(s) of paper, however this is not mandatory. 2008 Boneyard Arts Festival
SAVE THE DATE!  The 2008 Boneyard Arts Festival is scheduled to take place on the third weekend in April (the 18th through the 20th).

Planning is well underway for Boneyard ‘08 and volunteers are needed to help make this annual event bigger and better than ever. More than a traditional arts walk, the Boneyard Arts Festival is a unique countywide event that takes place in dozens of different venues in Champaign, Urbana, Campustown, Mahomet, Savoy, Dewey, Rantoul and St Joseph.  Sculptors, weavers, photographers, painters and other visual artists join musicians, dancers, actors, poets and other performers sharing their creativity in a wide variety of venues - from cafes, galleries and cultural houses to retail stores and salons.
