KRANNERT CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, a proud annual sponsor of the Boneyard Arts Festival, again brings its dynamic programming to the streets of our community through all four days of the Boneyard. From world music and traveling puppetry to video installations and modern dance, Krannert Center imbues the alleyways, corners, nooks and crannies of Champaign County with these spirited slices of outdoor art:

4:30pm: Elizabeth Simpson, performance artist, throughout downtown
5:00pm: Shakespeare on Love @ Taylor Street Courtyard, by Dandelion
A collection of sonnets centered around Love.
5:30pm: Global Sounds, Creative Ryhthms @ Walnut and Chester, by 10,000 Villages
Featuring a wide variety of African and Brazilian instruments, found objects, and interactive improvisation.
6:30pm: Soul Premier @ One Main Plaza, by Jim Gould
A cappella singing group.
7:30pm: The Gypsy Hips, throughout downtown
A dance troupe of free-spirited ladies that share the joy of dance. Based in the Champaign-Urbana area, they exhibit a wide variety of dance styles and enjoy performing.
8:30pm: Elizabeth Simpson, fire spinning @ One Main Plaza, by Jim Gould
9:00pm: Hedwig & Friends @ Taylor Street courtyard, by Dandelion
Champaign-Urbana's premier Trans-Rock Machine for Revolution performs songs from last season's Riveting and Most Fantabulous Rock and Roll Extravaganza.
9:30pm: Metropolitan Video Project @ Neil and Main
Unique outdoor video project featuring a collection of images honoring Champaign's 150th, with a special Microurban video presentation

presents:
4:00-8:30pm: Robert E. Brown Center for World Music Spring Concert outside @ the Krannert Center Amphitheater and inside the Krannert lobby @ Stage 5
Program opens at 4pm with short performances by gamelan students from South Side Elementary School and West African dance and drumming students from Garden Hills Elementary School. Both groups have been taught in the Spring semester by visiting artists from the Center for World Music. After that - from about 4:20 on - performances by Center for World Music and guest ensembles, featuring music from Bali, Guinea, India, China, Japan, Ghana, Russia and Eurasia, and the Caribbean!
6:30pm: Duke of Uke @ 616 Green Street (Panera Courtyard)
Energetic and hopelessly romantic, The Duke of Uke & His Novelty Orchestra enchants audiences with witty lyrics, complex vocal harmonies and funky rhythms. Their infectiously optimistic sound draws from a wide range of influences - from classical composers such as Bach, to tin pan alley ragtime tunes, to rock and roll artists of the '60s and 70s.

Mobile puppet theatre!
12:30pm: Shakespeare on Love, in front of Mirabelle Fine Pastries on Main
A collection of sonnets centered around Love.
1pm: Recycled Rythms @ the Busey Bank east parking lot
Recycled Rhythms is a Afro-Brazilian influenced musical group that promotes resource conservation, educates about percussion instruments and music making, and empowers children and adults to pursue their artistic dreams.
2:30pm: Ben Hay, throughout downtown
Solo didjeridu.
3:30pm: Elizabeth Simpson, performance artist, throughout downtown

1pm: The Schwartz Family Headin’ Home Band @ Main & Lincoln, by Busey Bank
The Schwartz Family Headin’ Home Band was conceived by Scott Schwartz several years ago as a way to make music a family affair and to teach the kids alternate musical styles. Scott on guitar with Aaron, 17, on fiddle and Kitty, 11, on cello, mandolin and vocals, performing a selection of music with roots in bluegrass, jazz, and folk.
1:30pm and 3:30pm: Illini Juggling & Unicycle Club @ Rte. 150, by Chef Benjamin
The Illini Juggling and Unicycle Club has been in operation in the Champaign-Urbana area since 1983. They are the University of Illinois' sole juggling club and also the only one in the area. They meet in the UIUC armory every Monday from 7:30-10pm.
