Urbana Street Dance

Announcing the first ever Urbana Street Dance, Saturday, July 28, from 5-10pm.

Race Street between Main Street and Elm Street will be closed off and transformed into a giant dance floor for your boogie-ing pleasure!!

This FREE event, sponsored by the Community Center for the Arts (C4A) with the support of the Urbana Business Association, is the first of what we hope will be many music events on the streets in downtown Urbana.

Here's the lineup:

  • 5:00 to 5:30: Bow-dacious String Band (some of C-U's best and youngest string players)
  • 5:30 to 6:30: Recycled Rhythyms (Brazilian music)
  • 6:45 to 8:15: Mhondoro (Zimbabwean music)
  • 8:30 to 10:00 Big Grove Zydeco (hip-shaking zydeco)
